Reiki ao Simão – Sobrevivente do Incêndio de Santo Tirso

No dia 19 de Julho, houve um incêndio num Canil na Serra da Agrela, em Santo Tirso, onde morreram vários animais carbonizados. Muitas pessoas que estiveram no terreno, assistiram a esta tragédia, impotentes e viveram um horror que dificilmente conseguirão esquecer.

A maioria destes animais foram resgatados, graças a essas pessoas, e entregues aos cuidados de Abrigos e Canis Municipais; outros foram adotados por famílias que lhes quiseram dar uma vida melhor.

Como eu, muitas pessoas acompanharam esta tragédia à distância, através das redes sociais e de reportagens televisivas e nos dias seguintes foi enviado Reiki à Distância, mas o desejo de poder fazer mais era enorme.

Foi nessa sequência que recebi um pedido para ir dar Reiki ao Simão (Simon), que esteve durante cerca de um mês acolhido na Associação Patinhas, em Vale de Cambra, Distrito de Aveiro, após ter sido resgatado do Canil da Serra da Agrela, em Santo Tirso.

Estas Associações, fazem um trabalho fantástico e importante, acolhendo nos seus Abrigos animais oriundos de todo o tipo de situações negativas, no entanto, há casos que são mais difíceis de lidar do que outros, pelo que fizeram um apelo na sua página para alguém que estivesse disposto a acolher o Simãozinho.

A Helena Figueiredo e o marido, não conseguiram ficar indiferentes às fotos publicadas por aquela Associação, que mostravam um animal muito deprimido e em estado catatónico e decidiram ir buscar o Simão no dia 15 de Agosto -Dia Internacional do Reiki -, tendo feito uma viagem de ida e volta de mais de 600 Kms, na qual o cãozinho veio o caminho todo debaixo de um dos bancos da frente, muito assustado.

Quando o cãozinho chegou à sua nova casa, imediatamente se escondeu atrás de um vaso, na cozinha, tão assustado que estava.

Puseram-lhe uma caminha e ao fim de algum tempo, ele deitou-se nela, mas continuava com o olhar vazio e sem querer qualquer tipo de contacto. Também não quis comer nem beber água, permanecendo muito parado.

No dia seguinte, dia 16 de Agosto, tiveram início as Sessões de Reiki ao Simão, em regime de Voluntariado.

Nas primeiras Sessões, senti nele um medo e uma tristeza indescritíveis, apesar dos meus 6 anos de Voluntariado Reiki em Animais, alguns deles resgatados de situações muito más e violentas – como a Eva, por exemplo, resgatada pelo DAP- Denúncia Animal Portugal, em Agosto de 2019.

Por isso, as Sessões, foram dadas sem qualquer toque e respeitando o seu espaço.

Embora tenha percebido que se encontrava muito assustado e contraído, recebeu muito bem o Reiki e logo na primeira Sessão foi relaxando e escorregando pelo chão do cantinho que escolheu, para se esconder.

Durante 2 semanas, o Simão, que segundo a veterinária não terá ainda 2 anos de idade, recebeu Sessões de Reiki de dois em dois dias.

Fechou os seus olhinhos doces muitas vezes, a respiração passou de ofegante para mais tranquila e mais profunda. Noutras ocasiões relaxou tanto que quase adormeceu, teve espasmos musculares e emitiu alguns sons, como que a libertar-se de alguns traumas do seu jovem, mas marcado passado.

Ao longo dessas primeiras duas semanas, através de sinais físicos que o meu corpo foi dando, senti que sozinha teria dificuldade em ajudar o Simão, pelo que pedi ajuda a colegas para enviarem Reiki à Distância, não apenas ao Simão, mas a mim também.

Uniram-se em torno desta história sinergias incríveis, pois muitas pessoas quiseram ajudar não só com o envio de Reiki, mas com outros produtos e mensagens de apoio ao Simãozinho e à Família linda que o adotou.

Nas 4 semanas após a sua chegada à família, verificaram-se algumas (boas) alterações no olhar e na postura corporal do Simão, que foi permitindo o toque.

O Simão terá certamente um longo caminho pela frente e não se sabe até que ponto e de que forma ele poderá vir a interagir com a sua nova família e o seu “irmão” Tobias, pois durante o seu crescimento terá certamente vivido situações menos boas que fizeram dele um cãozinho muito medroso e submisso, isolado no seu mundo.

Contudo, com amor, carinho, compreensão e muita paciência por parte da sua família em breve o Simão será um cãozinho mais confiante e feliz.

As Sessões de Reiki em regime de voluntariado também irão continuar.

Passadas 4 semanas de uma nova Vida, mostra já interesse no ambiente à sua volta apresenta um olhar diferente e ao tocar-lhe, percebe-se que o seu corpo está muito mais descontraído.

Reiki to Simon – A survival dog from a fire

On the 19^th of July, there was a big fire in a Shelter at Serra da Agrela- Santo Tirso in the North of Portugal, where many animals died.

Many people watched this tragedy powerless, and lived a horrific situation that will be very difficult to forget.

Most of those animals were rescued thanks to these people and were sheltered at Animal Association ; others, were adopted by families who wanted to give them a better life.

Like me, many people, followed this tragedy through Social Networks and TV and in the following days Reiki at Distance was sent, however, there was a huge desire to do something more.

I received a request to give Reiki to Simão (Simon), sheltered at Patinhas & Patudos Association, for about one month after being rescued from the fire at Santo Tirso.

The work of these Shelters in Portugal is amazing and very important, they shelter Animals from all kinds of negative situations, however there are cases that are really difficult to deal with, that is why this Association made an appeal on their Facebook page in order to find someone who wanted to adopt little Simon.

Helena Figueiredo and her husband, couldn’t be indifferent to the published photos, that showed a very depressed animal, in a catatonic state, and decided to collect him on the 15th of August –The International Reiki Day -driving for 600 Kms trip where the dog came very scared bellow one of the front seats all the way.

When he arrived at his new home, he was so frightened that immediately hid behind a vase in the kitchen.

His family put a bed in the floor and after a while he lay down on it, but his eyes were empty and he didn’t want any kind of contact. He also didn’t want to eat or drink and was very still.

In the following day, 16th of August, the Voluntary Reiki Sessions began.

In the first Sessions, I felt him very scared and very sad, and despite I have been a Reiki Volunteer in Shelters and Rescued Animals for more than 6 years, I have never seen such a traumatized animal !

So, Reiki was given without touching him.

Although, I realized that he was very frightened and contracted, he received Reiki and in the first Session he relaxed and slid across the floor.

For 2 weeks, Simon, that following the vet’s opinion, is not yet 2 years old, received Reiki Sessions every 2 days.

Many times he closed his sweet eyes, his breath calmed down and became deeper.

In other occasions, he relaxed so much that he fell asleep, had muscle spasms and made some sounds, like he was releasing some traumas of his young but sad past.

During those two weeks, I felt that it would be difficulty to help Simon alone, so I asked some of my colleagues to send Reiki at Distance not only for Simon, but also for me.

Around this story, many people wanted to help, not only by sending Reiki but also with other offers and support messages to Simon’s new family.

After 4 weeks since he arrived, there are some (good) changes in Simon’s eyes and also in his body posture. Touch, has also been allowed.

Simon will have a long way ahead and it is difficult to say how he will interact with his family and his “brother” Tobias. During his short life it is possible that he may have lived situations that made him a frightened and submissive doggy.

However, with love, affection, understanding and patience from his family, soon Simon will be a more confident and happier dog.

Voluntary Reiki Sessions will also continue.

After 4 weeks of a new Life, he shows already interest in the surrounding environment, a different look and when we touch him, we feel that his body is also more relaxed.
